Opportunities

BECHS welcomes those who would like to offer their talents. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities that are mutually beneficial to us and the volunteer.

Here is what we currently have available for volunteer opportunities:

Front Reception Desk
Volunteers are need to help cover the front reception desk at the History Center July 14 -July 26. Duties include greeting visitors and provide general information for exhibits, admission, directions to the Museum, Research Center, etc.  Volunteers can also ring-up store sales and answer phones if comfortable. BECHS staff will be available if questions arise.

Blue Earth County Fair
Help represent BECHS at the Blue Earth County Fair. Volunteers visit with fair-goers, keep an eye on displays and help with hands-on history activities. 3 hour shifts available, 2 volunteers are needed for each shift.

Technology Assistance
Looking for a volunteer for 10-20 hours per week to help at the History Center with computer maintenance and problem solving. Experience with PC hardware and software, Windows 7 and 10 is preferred. Experience with Windows Server 2012 would be useful.
 
Education/Classroom Activity Help
Enjoy helping kids explore history? We are looking for individuals to assist with classroom visits and kids activities at the History Center and Hubbard House from on-site educators to living history characters.  Also, seeking individuals for the research and planning of activities.  Schedule varies.
